In the middle of this charming and historic village lays a beautiful stone building: our winery. Built in 1819 by the Astorga city council, it was conceived as a cellar for the production of fine wines. The building still has elements of that by-gone era such as the press, a well and a thick wall to keep out the humidity. Our cellar can produce between 60.000 and 80.000 liters of wine. Our current production is 11.000 bottles. During harvest each selected lot of grapes is transported in small containers and upon arrival to the winery they are hand-sorted in the selection table discarding any leaves or imperfect grapes. The process for both the alcoholic and the malolactic fermentations is long and unhurried, ending in oak barrel to achieve our characteristic smooth and elegant “terroir” wines. Indeed the hardest job is that of the 40, 225 litre, French oak barrels in charged of nurturing our wines to perfection.
